Résistance Démocratique questions Haitian government neutrality
The political organization Résistance Démocratique (RED) has expressed concerns regarding the neutrality of the state during the upcoming electoral process in Haiti. In a letter addressed to Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé, signed by Secretary General Renald Lubérice, the group emphasized the responsibility of the transitional government to ensure free and credible elections.
RED specifically raised concerns about the recent formation of a political group linked to the current administration and the potential participation of individuals close to the Prime Minister in the elections. The organization warned that the government's control over ministries, public agencies, and administrative structures could lead to an unfair advantage if not managed with restraint.
To maintain public trust, RED is calling for clear guarantees of administrative neutrality and the establishment of independent mechanisms to monitor the use of public resources. The group has also requested the dissolution of the political group formed around the Prime Minister and urged his associates to refrain from running as candidates.
