RSS holds route marches across Tamil Nadu and Karnataka

The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) conducted route marches across Tamil Nadu and Karnataka as part of its annual Vijayadashami observances and centenary celebrations. In Tamil Nadu, the marches followed a Madras High Court order permitting processions at 128 locations after the state government had initially denied approval.

In Chennai, marches took place in several areas, including Egmore, Kolathur, and Tiruvottiyur. The Egmore procession concluded with a public meeting near Rajarathinam Stadium. BJP leader Tamilisai Soundararajan attended the events, criticizing successive state governments for requiring judicial intervention to allow the organization to hold peaceful marches.

In Karnataka, marches were held in Bengaluru, Ballari, and Mysuru. While many events proceeded with tight security, some marches in districts such as Tumakuru, Chikkaballapur, and Kolar were postponed or rescheduled due to administrative or election-related issues. The Madras High Court previously remarked that police had been using court guidelines to reject applications rather than process them, ultimately ordering the permission for the Tamil Nadu events.
