RT en Español launches free-to-air broadcasts in Nicaragua

RT en Español has launched free-to-air television broadcasts in Nicaragua via Channel 31 UHF. This initial phase aims to provide the Nicaraguan public with access to live news, analysis, and debates through a free signal, with plans to gradually expand coverage to all departments in the coming months.

The broadcast agreement stems from an intention document signed on June 20, 2025, during the XXVIII St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. The agreement was signed by Victoria Vorontsova, director of RT en Español, and Daniel Edmundo Ortega Murillo, Media Coordinator of the Council of Communication and Citizenship. The initiative seeks to strengthen cooperation and exchange between Nicaraguan communicators and the Russian media network.
