RTL and Sky expand NFL broadcasting rights in Germany

RTL Deutschland and Sky have significantly expanded their coverage of the National Football League (NFL) in the German-speaking market. RTL has secured an expanded rights portfolio that will run from the 2026/27 regular season through the 2028/29 season, promising over 200 live games including individual matches and conference coverage.

In conjunction with these rights, Sky has launched 'Sky Sport NFL', the first 24-hour German channel dedicated exclusively to the league. The channel will be available to Sky Sport and WOW subscribers at no extra cost. Programming highlights include the 'NFL RedZone' conference every Sunday, as well as 'Thursday Night Football', 'Sunday Night Football', and 'Monday Night Football'.

The new NFL season is scheduled to begin on the night of September 10, featuring a matchup between the Seattle Seahawks and the New England Patriots.
