RTL announces fifth season of ‘Az Árulók’ with cinematic premiere

RTL has announced the fifth season of the crime-reality series ‘Az Árulók – Gyilkosság a kastélyban’ (The Traitors – Murder in the Castle), scheduled to premiere on October 6. The new season introduces a significant gameplay twist: the appearance of a secret traitor who knows the identities of the killers but remains unknown to them. This character will influence events, such as compiling the shortlist from which killers select their daily victims.

In an unconventional promotional move, the first episode will receive a theatrical release. On October 1, a special screening and audience meeting will take place at the Cinema City Arena in Budapest. Additionally, the premiere episode will be shown in all Cinema City theaters across Hungary between October 2 and October 4, ahead of its television and streaming debut on RTL and RTL+ Premium.

Attila Árpa returns as the host. While the specific cast members have not yet been revealed, the network plans to introduce the new players throughout October.
