RTL dating show Bauer sucht Frau celebrates 21 years

The long-running RTL dating show ‘Bauer sucht Frau’ is approaching its 22nd season. Over its 21-year history, the program has facilitated more than 40 weddings and resulted in the birth of nearly 50 children.

Participation in the show involves strict contractual obligations managed by the production company UFA Show & Factual on behalf of RTL. Key requirements for candidates include verifying their single status and adhering to a prohibition on contacting potential partners via social media or messaging services before filming begins. In one instance related to ‘Bauer sucht Frau International’, a participant was removed from the show after it was discovered they were married despite claiming to be single.

Notable milestones from the series include the longest-married couple, Bruno and Anja, who wed in 2009, and the oldest participant, Gerhard, who joined at age 77. The upcoming season will feature a diverse range of ages, including 23-year-old candidate Melina.
