RTL moves ‘Gladiators’ to late-night programming after low ratings

RTL has removed the show ‘Gladiators - Die Show der Giganten’ from its primetime programming following poor viewership numbers. After only two episodes, the broadcaster decided to move the format to a late-night slot.

The first episode drew approximately 700,000 viewers with a 9.2 percent market share in the 14-to-49 demographic. However, the second episode saw a significant decline, attracting only about 500,000 viewers and a 5.2 percent market share in the same target group.

The remaining three produced episodes are scheduled to air starting October 2, but will be broadcast late at night at 23:15, following ‘Ninja Warrior Germany’. To fill the vacated primetime slot this Friday, RTL will broadcast a repeat of the documentary ‘70 Jahre Bravo - Das große Jubiläum’.
