RTL pulls 'Diese Ochsenknechts' after three low‑rated episodes

German private broadcaster RTL removed the documentary series "Diese Ochsenknechts" from its free‑TV schedule after only three episodes. The first episode aired on 5 July 2026 attracted about 570,000 viewers, but by the third episode viewership had dropped to roughly 410,000, reducing the market share among 14‑ to 49‑year‑olds from 5.2 % to 3.0 %. In response, RTL cancelled the planned fourth episode for 26 July and replaced it with a repeat of "Die Versicherungsdetektive".

The complete fifth season remains available on the streaming service RTL+ as well as on WOW and Sky, but no new terrestrial timeslot has been announced.
