RTL suspends lesbian dating show ‘Princess Charming’

RTL has announced that it will not continue the lesbian dating show ‘Princess Charming’ for the time being. The decision comes despite the program’s recent nomination for the German Television Award in the ‘Best Reality Show’ category.

Producer Yvonne Plume of Seapoint Productions shared the news via LinkedIn, expressing both appreciation for the award nomination and disappointment over the show's conclusion. Plume noted that the format provided a unique queer perspective in German television, offering visibility and stories that moved audiences.

The show, which premiered in 2021, ran for five seasons. While RTL confirmed that no new seasons are currently planned for RTL+, the broadcaster did not rule out a potential comeback in the future. The production team for the series has been disbanded.
