RTL’s ‘Die Versicherungsdetektive’ lifts ratings after replacing ‘Die Ochsenknechts’

‘Die Versicherungsdetektive’ is a German RTL report series that follows insurance investigators Patrick Hufen and Timo Heitmann as they expose fraudulent claims. The show, which began in 2025, has aired ten episodes, the latest on 26 July 2026.

After the reality‑show ‘Die Ochsenknechts’ was dropped, RTL filled the 19:10 pm slot with reruns of ‘Die Versicherungsdetektive’. The replacement drew an average of 0.81 million viewers and a 4.4 % market share, comfortably beating the former programme’s 0.41 million viewers and 2.3 % share. The episode‑by‑episode performance also outperformed other primetime offerings, with the following Bond film attracting 1.16 million viewers.

The strong audience response highlights the appeal of the insurance‑fraud investigation format on German television.
