RTS leadership undergoes major changes following director resignation

Radio-televizija Srbije (RTS) is experiencing significant leadership shifts following the resignation of General Director Manja Grčić. Borivoje Uskoković has been appointed as the acting editor-in-chief of the news program. Following this appointment, Uskoković dismissed eight editors, including those responsible for the website, regional news, the Oko program, the diaspora desk, and the central news bulletins at 19:00 and 23:00.

Branislav Klanšček, President of the RTS Board, denied reports of an emergency electronic session to appoint a new director, stating that no such decision was made. He noted that the Board is scheduled to meet on Friday to discuss the selection of a new acting director. Candidates must meet specific legal criteria, including ten years of management experience and being external to the current RTS staff.

In a separate development, the Regulatory Body for Electronic Media (REM) has initiated proceedings against TV Informer and TV Prva for alleged campaign violations. The Council unanimously decided to investigate Informer following an initiative by 32 organizations, while concluding there were no grounds to proceed against N1.
