RTS postpones premiere of biographical series ‘Pupin’

Radio-televizija Srbije (RTS) has announced a delay for the premiere of its new biographical drama series, ‘Pupin’. Originally scheduled to debut on October 9, the series will now begin airing on November 13. The new broadcast schedule will feature episodes on Fridays and Saturdays at 20:00 on RTS1.

The broadcaster cited compliance with the Law on Electronic Media and the regulations of the Regulatory Authority for Electronic Media (REM) regarding election campaigns. These rules prohibit the broadcasting of scripted, documentary, or entertainment content featuring officials or representatives of election list candidates during the campaign period.

The series chronicles the life of Mihajlo Pupin, a prominent Serbian and world-renowned scientist. The narrative follows his journey from his childhood in Idvor and education in Pančevo through his experiences in Europe and America, culminating in his scientific achievements. The production also depicts his interactions with historical figures such as Nikola Tesla, Guglielmo Marconi, John D. Rockefeller, and Woodrow Wilson.
