Spanish television undergoes programming shifts and cancellations
Spanish television is undergoing several programming shifts due to audience performance and seasonal changes. RTVE has announced that the Italian series ‘La amiga estupenda’, based on Elena Ferrante’s novels, will move from La 2 to the prime-time slot on La 1 this Saturday. This decision follows its status as the best fiction premiere on La 2 in 20 years, attracting nearly two million unique viewers.
In other RTVE developments, the program ‘El Perro Andaluz’, hosted by Manu Sánchez, is scheduled to return on September 3 with a new season after its successful first run. Additionally, journalist Ane Ibarzabal is departing from the program ‘Malas lenguas’ to transition into a new role within the public broadcaster, reportedly joining ‘Mañaneros 360’.
Meanwhile, Telecinco has cancelled ‘El show de Paz’, hosted by Paz Padilla. The program concludes its 25th episode on August 30 following audience shares that fluctuated between 6.1% and 8.1%. Padilla expressed pride in her team and the intention to ‘bring a little bit of good’ through their work despite the cancellation.
