RTVE celebrates 70th anniversary with special broadcast in Robledillo de la Jara

To celebrate the 70th anniversary of Televisión Española (TVE), the news program Telediario 1 held a special live broadcast from Robledillo de la Jara, a small village in the north of Madrid. The location holds symbolic importance as the town's main square is named ‘Plaza de Televisión Española’ in gratitude for the arrival of the first television sets in the area.

The special broadcast featured historical tributes, including musical performances by the RTVE Orchestra and Choir and archival footage of iconic Spanish series and news programming.

During the event, RTVE also honored veteran meteorologist Ana de Roque, who is retiring this month. In a nod to the early days of television, de Roque delivered one of her final weather forecasts using traditional cardboard maps and stickers rather than modern digital graphics. The tribute was presented by Telediario host Alejandra Herranz in front of a live audience in the town square.
