RTVE to broadcast Wheelchair Basketball World Cup for the first time

RTVE will broadcast the Wheelchair Basketball World Cup for the first time in its history. The tournament, held in Ottawa, Canada, from September 9 to 19, will be available via the RTVE Play streaming platform and the Teledeporte channel.

The broadcasting agreement was reached between RTVE, the Spanish Federation of Sports for People with Physical Disabilities (FEDDF), the International Wheelchair Basketball Federation (IWBF), and Fundación ONCE. RTVE Play will provide Spanish-language commentary for all matches involving the Spanish men’s and women’s national teams, starting from the group stages. Some matches, particularly from the second phase onward, will also be aired on Teledeporte.

The women’s tournament features twelve teams, with the Spanish team placed in Group A alongside Brazil, China, Great Britain, Australia, and Canada. The men’s tournament includes sixteen teams, with Spain competing in Group C against Japan, Poland, and Colombia.
