RTX raises 2026 sales outlook amid record $340 billion backlog
RTX has raised its full-year 2026 adjusted sales outlook to a range of $97 billion to $97.5 billion, up from previous guidance of $95 billion to $96 billion. The company also increased its adjusted earnings per share (EPS) guidance to a range of $7.65 to $7.75, compared to the prior estimate of $7.10 to $7.25.
Driven by robust demand in both defense and commercial aerospace, RTX reported a record backlog of $340 billion. In the defense segment, Raytheon converted major military framework agreements into approximately $70 billion in undefinitized contracts for systems such as Tomahawk cruise missiles and AMRAAM air-to-air missiles, providing significant long-term demand visibility.
In the commercial sector, Pratt & Whitney added over 800 Geared Turbofan (GTF) engine orders and commitments this year, contributing to a backlog of over 8,000 engines. Additionally, Collins Aerospace reported double-digit organic sales growth while implementing cost-cutting measures to improve operating margins.
