RTX's Pratt & Whitney Wins $1.3 Billion F135 Sustainment Contract

Pratt & Whitney, an RTX business, has secured an indefinite‑delivery, indefinite‑quantity (IDIQ) contract worth nearly $1.3 billion to provide spare parts and support equipment for the F135 engine that powers all three variants of the F‑35 Lightning II. The agreement covers fiscal‑year‑2026 initial spare‑part requirements, deployable spare packages, depot lay‑ins and related gear for both U.S. and international F‑35 operators. Pratt & Whitney says the deal will strengthen its global sustainment network, which currently serves 42 bases and 13 ships worldwide, and will help keep the F135 mission‑ready for decades. To date the company has delivered more than 1,500 F135 production engines to a customer base spanning 20 allied nations, underscoring the strategic importance of the contract for allied air‑power readiness.
