Ruan Tressoldi sues São Paulo FC for R$ 14 million

Football defender Ruan Tressoldi has filed a lawsuit against São Paulo FC seeking R$ 14 million in damages, alleging medical negligence and contractual failures. The player claims that during his loan period, which ended in June 2025, discussions and delays between São Paulo and his parent club, Sassuolo, led to the postponement of a necessary surgery.

Tressoldi alleges that the club failed to provide athlete insurance coverage as requested, forcing him to pay for his knee surgery via credit card in July 2025. The lawsuit includes claims for unpaid image rights, severance, medical expenses, moral damages, and legal fees.

São Paulo FC has contested the claims, stating that the player had access to premium health insurance through the club, including coverage at Hospital Albert Einstein, and denies any refusal of assistance. Tressoldi, who is currently a regular starter for Atlético-MG, maintains that the injury issues persisted throughout his time with São Paulo.
