Ruangkrai defends MP Suchada against scammer allegations

Former Senator Ruangkrai Leekitwattana has defended Bhumjaithai Party MP Suchada Sangtanthap (known as Idea) against allegations made by People's Party MP Rangsiman Rome. Rome previously suggested that Suchada's spouse might be linked to scammer networks.

Ruangkrai stated that Suchada's asset disclosure filed with the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) shows no irregularities. He noted that a 97 million baht discrepancy could stem from investments made prior to her taking office, and characterized a 1.3 billion baht loan as a private sector investment involving inherent risks.

Furthermore, Ruangkrai warned Rome that his parliamentary remarks might not be protected by immunity since they targeted a third party. He suggested that if evidence of scammer involvement exists, it should be reported to the Anti-Money Laundering Office (AMLO) or the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) rather than being raised as unsubstantiated claims in parliament.
