Rubber Authority of Thailand announces relief for flood-affected farmers

The Rubber Authority of Thailand (RAOT) has announced relief measures for rubber farmers affected by recent flooding in Chanthaburi, Rayong, Chachoengsao, and Surin. The floods have impacted approximately 26,000 rai of rubber plantations and over 10,000 registered farmers.

Acting Governor Sansana Suriyothin stated that the agency will provide subsidies of up to 3,000 baht per person for damages caused by natural disasters, including floods, droughts, and pests. Additionally, RAOT is offering emergency loans of up to 50,000 baht to alleviate financial distress.

Specific assistance is available for replanting or repairing plantations. For gardens where more than 30% of trees are lost, subsidies for replanting will be provided. For gardens with less than 30% loss, support includes costs for repairing young trees or propping up fallen ones. Farmers must contact local RAOT offices within 30 days of the disaster to claim aid.
