Rubber Authority of Thailand initiates flood relief for Nan farmers

The Rubber Authority of Thailand (RAOT) has announced emergency relief measures for rubber farmers in Nan province following severe flooding. Approximately 3,500 farmers are expected to be affected, with damage estimated across 35,000 rai of plantation area. The flooding has impacted several districts, including Mueang Nan, Pua, Tha Wang Pha, Wiang Sa, Santisuk, and Phu Phiang.

Acting Governor of RAOT, Weeris Amrapal, stated that the authority will provide essential survival supplies to affected households. Additionally, the agency is considering welfare payments of up to 3,000 baht per person to assist farmers once the situation stabilizes.

Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives, Suriya Juangroongruangkit, has ordered an immediate survey of damages to ensure timely compensation. RAOT has implemented three urgent measures: assessing and documenting damages for formal assistance, monitoring high-risk areas such as Phitsanulok, Sukhothai, and Uttaradit, and providing daily impact reports via electronic systems to track the situation continuously.
