Ruben Gallego's PAC subpoenaed in DOJ campaign cash probe

The U.S. Department of Justice has issued a grand jury subpoena to the Juntos PAC, the leadership political action committee of Arizona Senator Ruben Gallego, as part of an ongoing criminal investigation. The probe focuses on the potential misuse of campaign funds to finance personal expenses and a luxurious lifestyle.

According to subpoena documents, the investigation includes records of activities around September 9, 2025, and demands statements Gallego provided to the Senate Ethics Committee during a separate inquiry into fund misuse, which the committee dismissed in June. The investigation follows reports of campaign spending on family trips to locations such as Disneyland, Disney World, Miami, and Chicago, as well as over $18,000 in childcare reimbursements since 2019.

The inquiry also involves the Swallego Victory Fund, a joint committee established by Gallego and former Representative Eric Swalwell. Records indicate the fund spent more than $37,000 on meals and tickets for Super Bowl LVII. A spokesperson for Senator Gallego stated that the PAC has complied with the subpoena and has nothing to hide.
