Ruben Onsu settles Rp3.5 billion investment fraud case
Indonesian presenter Ruben Onsu has reached a settlement in a legal case involving alleged investment fraud and embezzlement. Following a mediation process in Jakarta, Onsu agreed to repay the full principal loss of Rp3.5 billion to the complainant, identified by the initials DM.
As a result of this agreement, the complainant has withdrawn the police report filed with the South Jakarta Metro Police. The authorities are expected to proceed with restorative justice mechanisms and issue a formal order to terminate the investigation (SP3), which will effectively nullify Onsu’s suspect status.
Onsu attributed the delay in fulfilling his financial obligations to difficulties in liquidating personal assets due to current economic conditions. He expressed that the experience served as a valuable lesson and stated he would be more selective and cautious in future business partnerships and investments.
