Ruben Van Gucht addresses ‘De Verraders’ disqualification

Belgian commentator and presenter Ruben Van Gucht has addressed his controversial disqualification from the reality show ‘De Verraders’. Speaking on his program ‘Happy Hour’, Van Gucht argued that his exit was unjustified, claiming the rules regarding electronic equipment were open to interpretation. He stated that while a laptop was discovered in his room by the production crew, he had no internet access, no mobile hotspot, and had not given permission for the search.

Van Gucht described the situation as a bitter experience and criticized the production for making several errors. Despite the controversy, he remains highly active in the media landscape. His upcoming schedule includes appearances on VRT for cycling and sports coverage, participation in ‘De Verraders’ on VTM, and hosting ‘De Tafel Van...’ on Play alongside Gert Verhulst and Tine Embrechts.

Regarding his long-term career goals, Van Gucht expressed a desire to eventually achieve financial stability to allow him to retire from the media spotlight and focus on his family.
