Jenson Button has highlighted the technical engineering skills of Rubens Barrichello, describing him as the best driver he knew in that specific area. Button noted that Barrichello’s ability to develop a car, understand its behavior on the track, and provide precise feedback to engineers was an underappreciated quality.

This technical proficiency explains why Barrichello was a highly valued teammate for Michael Schumacher during their six successful seasons at Ferrari between 2000 and 2005. During that period, the duo helped Ferrari secure five Constructors’ championships and enabled Schumacher to win five Drivers’ titles. Button, who raced alongside Barrichello at Honda, remarked that he only fully realized the extent of Barrichello’s skillset after working with him directly.
