Rubiera: Man charged after supermarket altercation

A physical altercation between two women, aged 28 and 42, occurred in a supermarket parking lot in Rubiera on the evening of August 26, 2026. The confrontation, reportedly motivated by jealousy, prompted bystanders to call the Carabinieri.

Upon arrival, officers identified the participants and conducted a search of a 39-year-old man accompanying one of the women. Authorities discovered a 19-centimeter folding knife with an 8-centimeter blade in his possession. The man was charged with the illegal possession of offensive objects under Law 110/1975 and the weapon was seized.

No medical assistance was required for the women involved. The man has been referred to the Public Prosecutor's Office at the Court of Reggio Emilia as investigations continue.
