Rubiera post office robbery: Two suspects arrested after vehicle ramming attack
Police in Reggio Emilia have arrested two suspects following a series of targeted robberies using vehicles as battering rams. The most recent incident occurred at a post office in Rubiera, where a Fiat 500L was used to crash through the entrance.
Investigators determined that the same gang was responsible for a failed attempt to rob a post office on via Beethoven in Reggio Emilia shortly before the Rubiera attack. During the pursuit of the suspects in Rubiera, police intercepted a vehicle containing a stolen safe, which has since been recovered.
The two suspects, aged 20 and 21, were apprehended near the Cappelletto roundabout while attempting to flee toward Modena. Witnesses reported hearing sounds resembling gunfire during the chase.
