Rubén Moreira calls for joint congressional analysis of feminicide law

Rubén Moreira Valdez, coordinator of the PRI parliamentary group, has called for an open and plural legislative process to analyze the presidential initiative for the General Law to Prevent, Investigate, Sanction, and Repair Damage Caused by the Crime of Feminicide.

Moreira Valdez sent a letter to Ricardo Monreal Ávila, president of the Political Coordination Board (Jucopo) of the Chamber of Deputies, requesting that the analysis and eventual ruling of the initiative be conducted through joint conference work between both chambers of Congress. He emphasized that due to the national scope and the implications for justice institutions, the project requires a technically solid analysis involving specialists, civil organizations, victims' families, prosecutors, academics, and legislators from all 32 entities.

The initiative, presented by the Federal Executive and currently with Senate commissions, includes significant modifications regarding the prevention, investigation, and sanctioning of feminicide, as well as comprehensive care for victims and reparations.
