Rubén Rovelo wins NASCAR México Series race in Yucatán
Rubén Rovelo, driving for Alessandros Racing, secured victory in the first of two races held at the Autódromo Yucatán Emerson Fittipaldi as part of the NASCAR México Series. Despite starting from 11th position and facing challenging weather conditions—including heat, rain, and a premature finish due to low light—Rovelo managed to defend his lead against intense pressure from competitors.
Alex de Alba Jr. of the AGA Racing Team finished in second place, a result that strengthens his championship contention for the 2026 season. Xavi Razo, who started from the pole position, completed the podium in third place, maintaining his standing in the title race. The top five finishers were rounded out by Rubén García Jr. in fourth and Abraham Calderón in fifth.
In the Trucks México Series, local driver Carlos Novelo finished in sixth place. Novelo currently holds fourth position in the 2026 Chase standings.
