Ruda Śląska theatre to premiere play about Silesian community

The Henryk Bista Silesian Performing Arts Theatre in Ruda Śląska will host the premiere of the play ‘Wielki Piec... Ginter Łostoń’ on Sunday, October 11, 2026. Directed by Zbigniew Stryj, the production explores the lives, loves, and challenges of the Silesian community living in the shadow of the Huta Pokój steelworks.

Michał Pierończyk, the President of Ruda Śląska, noted that the Great Furnace of Huta Pokój is a symbol of the city and a monument undergoing transformation. He described the industrial site as a historical witness that has inspired local creators. The event is free to the public, though attendees must collect limited complimentary tickets from the theatre box office starting October 1.
