Rudar Trbovlje upsets Olimpija Ljubljana in Slovenian Cup

Third-division football club Rudar Trbovlje caused a major upset in the Pivovarna Union Cup by eliminating Olimpija Ljubljana. The match, played before 1,600 spectators, was decided in the 11th minute when Maj Sajovic scored the only goal of the game.

Olimpija, one of Slovenia’s most successful and wealthy clubs, struggled to find an equalizer despite several opportunities, including a shot that hit the crossbar. Rudar’s goalkeeper, Jasim Mujkanović, was credited with a standout performance to secure the victory.

The defeat has sparked intense criticism from Olimpija supporters, who directed anger toward the club's management. Fans expressed frustration over the team's decline, noting that the club has now been knocked out of the cup by lower-league opponents twice in less than a year.
