Rudecindo Reales assumes command of PRO Negros Island Region

Police Brigadier General Rudecindo L. Reales has officially assumed leadership of the Police Regional Office Negros Island Region (PRO NIR). The transition occurred on September 7, 2026, during a turnover ceremony at Camp Crame in Quezon City, where Reales succeeded Police Brigadier General Romano Cardiño, who has been reassigned to Eastern Visayas.

Following the official assumption, Reales participated in arrival honors at Camp Alfredo M. Montelibano Sr. in Bacolod City on September 8. During his initial briefings, Reales emphasized a focus on returning to basics, increasing police visibility, and ensuring officer accountability.

As a member of the Philippine National Police Academy Class of 1996, Reales is expected to oversee the continued development of the regional office, which serves Negros and Siquijor. His mandate includes strengthening crime prevention, law enforcement, and the professionalism and discipline of PRO NIR personnel.
