Rudnap faces bankruptcy filing over unpaid tax debts

The Ministry of Finance of Republika Srpska has filed for the bankruptcy of the Banja Luka-based company Rudnap. The request follows an unpaid tax debt totaling three million marks that the ministry has been unable to collect for several years due to the company's inactive status and blocked accounts.

Rudnap, which was part of a Belgrade-based group associated with businessman Vojin Lazarević, recorded a turnover of nearly 550 million marks between 2010 and 2014 through electricity resale. The company has faced legal scrutiny; it was reported to prosecutors over suspicions of issuing false invoices that allegedly defrauded the budget of millions. The District Commercial Court in Banja Luka has initiated preliminary proceedings and appointed a temporary bankruptcy administrator to determine if the conditions for formal bankruptcy are met.
