Ruf debuts Ehra, a 650-hp all-wheel-drive grand tourer
German manufacturer Ruf has debuted the Ehra, a new all-wheel-drive grand tourer, at Monterey Car Week. Named after the Ehra-Lessien proving ground where the company’s original CTR set speed records, the vehicle is designed to balance extreme performance with everyday drivability.
The Ehra features a 3.6-liter twin-turbocharged boxer six engine producing 650 horsepower and 664 pound-feet of torque. Unlike many modern high-performance vehicles that utilize automatic transmissions, the Ehra is equipped with a seven-speed manual gearbox paired with a fully variable all-wheel-drive system and a limited-slip differential.
Built on a proprietary carbon-fiber monocoque platform, the car features a widebody silhouette with increased track widths at the front and rear. Its design moves away from the traditional fixed whale-tail spoiler in favor of a carbon-fiber rear spoiler that deploys automatically at high speeds or can be manually controlled from the cabin. The interior maintains a functional, high-quality layout featuring leather and titanium elements.
