Rugby League World Cup: England men and women face critical fixtures

In the Rugby League World Cup, the England men’s team secured a dominant 82-0 victory over France. To advance, they must defeat Papua New Guinea by a margin of 68 points and rely on Tonga to defeat Samoa in the final round. The week's Team of the Week featured four English players: AJ Brimson, Dominic Young, Herbie Farnworth, and Dominic Young.

On the women's side, the England squad suffered a heavy 78-0 defeat against Australia. Despite the loss, head coach Stuart Barrow expressed confidence in the team's ability to reach the knockout stages, noting that a victory against Samoa in their final pool match in Wollongong would secure a semi-final berth. Barrow highlighted the team's growth and previous success, such as their 70-6 win over Wales, as indicators of their potential.
