Rugby Perugia appoints Giulio Battistacci as assistant coach

Giulio Battistacci has taken on a new role as assistant coach for Rugby Perugia's first team while recovering from surgery. Battistacci, a long-time player for the club, is currently undergoing rehabilitation for an anterior cruciate ligament injury and hopes to return to competitive play by February.

In addition to his assistant coaching duties under Alfredo De Angelis, Battistacci will serve as the coordinator for the club's 'cadet' formation, which will compete in the Serie C championship next year. This structure is designed to provide playing opportunities for the entire roster, creating a division between the Serie A and Serie C squads on match days.

Battistacci noted that while the club has lost some players compared to last season, they have acquired significant technical and physical profiles to prepare for the challenges of Serie A.
