Rugby Rovigo coach Davide Giazzon sets mobile captaincy and youth focus for new season

Head coach Davide Giazzon says the 2026/27 campaign for Rugby Rovigo Delta will balance experience with local youth, targeting strong performances in the Coppa Italia and the Serie A Elite league. Together with sporting director Polla Roux, he prioritized players' mentality as much as technical ability, adding five new signings chosen for attitude and skill.

With captain Facundo Ferrario sidelined for several months, Giazzon will rotate the captaincy each match to spread responsibility across the squad. The coaching staff also changed: Joe Van Niekerk remains on the team while Stefan Basson departed for another club.

Giazzon stresses that the summer preparation will lay the foundation for a cohesive, hungry group ready to compete.
