To facilitate testing and player development, both clubs utilized two distinct lineups during the match. The first half featured experienced players, while the second half provided playing time for younger athletes. Before kickoff, international referee Andrea Piardi conducted a briefing to demonstrate new World Rugby maul rules, followed by specialized positional warm-ups.
