Glasgow Warriors defeat Connacht 36-19 in URC

Glasgow Warriors maintained their unbeaten start to the United Rugby Championship season with a 36-19 bonus-point victory over Connacht at Scotstoun Stadium.

Despite an aggressive start from Connacht, which saw Sean Jansen score an early try to give the visitors a lead, Glasgow dominated through a powerful driving maul. Four of Glasgow’s five tries—scored by Gregor Hiddleston (2), Rory Darge, Seb Stephen, and a maul-driven effort—came from rolling mauls, exploiting Connacht’s defensive struggles in the set piece.

Josh McKay added a fifth try for Glasgow following a clever kick from Jamie Dobie. Although Connacht attempted a comeback with two tries from Josh Ioane to narrow the gap to 26-19, Glasgow responded with Seb Stephen’s try to secure the win. Discipline issues impacted Connacht, including a yellow card for Sam Illo, while Glasgow also faced late disciplinary challenges with yellow cards for Scott Cummings and Josh Murphy.
