Ruhul Kabir Rizvi urges opposition to propose energy solutions

Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, the acting general secretary of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and political advisor to the Prime Minister, has called on opposition parties to provide alternative plans to resolve the ongoing gas and electricity crises.

Speaking at an event for the newly elected executive committee of the Bangladesh Dance Artists Association, Rizvi urged the opposition to offer constructive suggestions in the National Parliament rather than threatening street protests or long marches. He emphasized that while criticizing the government and holding programs outside of Parliament are normal democratic practices, providing specific solutions on how to secure and supply energy is essential to avoid a planned stalemate.

Rizvi attributed the energy shortages to global conflicts and disruptions in fuel supply chains, specifically noting that obstacles in the Strait of Hormuz have hindered necessary fuel imports. He stated that the current crisis was not caused by the government's own actions.
