Rui Calçada elected Director of FEUP for 2026-2030 term

Rui Calçada has been elected Director of the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP) for the 2026-2030 term. Having led the faculty since 2022, Calçada aims to continue his work with a focus on several strategic pillars.

Key priorities for the upcoming four years include excellence in teaching and learning through pedagogical innovation and the responsible integration of artificial intelligence and digital tools. The program also emphasizes academic success, internationalization, and lifelong learning.

In terms of research and innovation, FEUP intends to strengthen its international projection and its capacity to generate scientific, economic, and social impact. This includes increasing participation in competitive international projects, attracting talent, and enhancing the transfer of knowledge to public and private entities.

Digital transformation is set to be a major driver of this new cycle, focusing on process simplification and the use of data in management, while ensuring academic integrity, data protection, and cybersecurity.
