Rui Hachimura signs two‑year $28 M deal with LA Clippers
Japanese forward Rui Hachimura has agreed to a two‑year contract worth $28 million with the Los Angeles Clippers, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania. The deal keeps the 28‑year‑old in Los Angeles after he left the Lakers, where he averaged 11.5 points, 3.3 rebounds and 44% from three‑point range in the 2025‑26 season.
The Clippers view Hachimura as a floor‑spacer and a switch‑able defender who can slot into a projected starting lineup with Darius Garland and Brandon Ingram. The signing follows the Clippers’ recent roster overhaul, including the trade of Kawhi Leonard, and comes after the Lakers declined a sign‑and‑trade because they expected draft‑pick compensation that the Clippers were unwilling to provide.
