Rulani Mokwena discusses South African football talent and MTN8 final

Pyramids FC coach Rulani Mokwena has addressed the debate regarding showboating in football, distinguishing between the natural talent of South African players and the technical training found in North African leagues. Mokwena noted that South African players possess an innate ability to control the ball in various ways, attributing this to street football and passion, whereas players in countries like Algeria, Morocco, and Egypt benefit from advanced academies and significant investment in youth development.

Mokwena also expressed his personal dilemma regarding the upcoming MTN8 final between Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates. Having previously held coaching positions at both clubs, he stated he would be happy regardless of the outcome, noting that his only opposition to either team occurs when he is actively competing against them from the opposing bench.
