Rum Island Festival Debuts in Atlanta Celebrating Caribbean Culture

The inaugural Rum Island Festival was held at Piedmont Park in Atlanta, showcasing Caribbean music, food, and rum. Hosted by media personality Pretty Vee and organized by founder Marc Walcott, the day‑long event featured live performances by artists such as Aidonia and Ayetian, curated rum tastings, cocktail activations, and a food village offering dishes like jerk chicken, rice and peas, and fried plantains.

Organizers said the festival aims to grow in future years, attracting larger crowds and more performers while providing a space for Atlanta’s expanding Caribbean community to connect with its heritage through entertainment, cuisine, and community activities.
