Rumeen Farhana involved in heated exchange with Sarail Police OC

Independent Member of Parliament Rumeen Farhana, representing the Brahmanbaria-2 constituency, was involved in a heated confrontation with Manzur Kader Bhuiyan, the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sarail Police Station, on the evening of 22 October.

The altercation, which was captured in several videos circulating on social media, occurred inside the OC’s office. Farhana and her supporters raised allegations against the officer, including failure to provide security, ignoring communications, and involvement in corruption related to illegal soil extraction and sand mining. An individual accompanying the MP also alleged that the OC had accepted a bribe.

In response to reports that police had lodged a General Diary regarding the incident, Farhana issued a statement through her personal assistant. She requested to be named as the primary accused if any legal cases are filed. Farhana noted that she had previously submitted a written complaint against the OC to the District Superintendent of Police on 23 October and is currently awaiting departmental action.
