Rumen Radev’s first 100 days retain solid support as opposition pushes for action on Plovdiv Fair

A Gallup International Bulgaria poll covering 24 July‑4 August 2026 found that public confidence in President Rumen Radev and his government remains stable after the first 100 days. The president’s party, Progressive Bulgaria, kept the high approval it earned in the last parliamentary election, while the second‑largest force, GERB‑SDS, lagged behind. Trust in state institutions, including the parliament, showed modest improvement, though 52 % of respondents expressed criticism of the government’s foreign‑policy direction.

At the same time, the opposition coalition Democratic Bulgaria called on Prime Minister Rumen Radev and Finance Minister Galab Donov to intervene in a legal dispute over the state’s 29 % stake in the International Fair Plovdiv. The coalition warned that failure to act could allow businessman Georgi Gergov to acquire control of the fair, citing a Supreme Court decision that places procedural responsibility on the finance minister. Democratic Bulgaria urged the government to protect the public interest and fulfill promises to combat oligarchic influence.
