Rumer Willis reveals Alzheimer's risk results following father's dementia diagnosis

Rumer Willis, the eldest daughter of actor Bruce Willis, has shared the results of her APOE genetic testing, which assesses the risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease. The 38-year-old actress underwent the testing through the health-membership service Function following her father’s 2023 diagnosis of frontotemporal dementia (FTD).

Rumer described the process of seeking answers as “terrifying,” noting a family history that includes not only dementia but also breast cancer. She reported that her test results were “pretty average,” indicating some risk but nothing extreme. She emphasized that having access to such information provides “power” to take proactive steps regarding heart health and inflammation.

In addition to discussing her health, Rumer spoke candidly about the emotional challenges of navigating her father’s condition. She expressed a sense of grief for the “different version” of her father she once knew, while striving to remain present and supportive of his current state. The Willis family has remained united in supporting Bruce as his neurological condition progresses.
