Rumer Willis undergoes genetic testing for Alzheimer's risk

Actress Rumer Willis has undergone genetic testing to assess her risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease, a decision prompted by her father Bruce Willis’ diagnosis of frontotemporal dementia.

Partnering with the medical company Function, Willis utilized the APOE genetic test to evaluate her biological predisposition. She described the process of seeking such answers as “terrifying” but emphasized that having information provides power to take proactive health measures, such as managing inflammation and heart health.

Willis reported that her test results showed an “average” score, indicating a level of risk that is “not crazy.” She noted that the experience of navigating her father’s cognitive decline has been emotionally difficult, stating, “I really miss my dad. I miss a different version of who he was.”
