Rumeysa Gelgi marks 12 years of Guinness World Records

Rumeysa Gelgi, a 29-year-old resident of Safranbolu, Karabük, is celebrating 12 years since her first entry into the Guinness World Records. Since her initial record in 2014 as the world's tallest girl under 18, Gelgi has secured eight different titles.

Her records include being the tallest woman, having the largest hands, longest fingers, longest back, largest feet, largest ears, and being the tallest baby girl born.

Gelgi, who lives with a rare syndrome that causes rapid growth, stated that her goal is to raise awareness and inspire others in similar situations by showing that success is possible despite physical differences. She also contributes to genetic research; while previous tests in 2018-2019 found no known mutations, her genetic map has been studied in detail by the Pasteur Institute in France.
