Rumi Coffee opens new café in Fresno, California

Rumi Coffee celebrated a soft opening on July 30, 2026 at 7406 N. Fresno Street, expanding its presence in California's Central Valley. The café offers authentic Syrian pastries such as baklava, kunafa, manakish and fatayer, alongside specialty coffee roasted by owner Hamed Alghazali, a former international policy professional with United Nations experience. Alghazali emphasized that the menu reflects traditional flavors from Damascus, Aleppo and Beirut without blending cuisines. The venue is designed as a destination with ample seating for customers to linger, and it will also serve as a production commissary to support larger wholesale and catering operations. Pastry chef Anas, with nearly two decades of experience, prepares the sweets and savory items from scratch.
